The removal of the deteriorating cornice and balustrade 50 years ago is just one of the losses to this historic 1908 Herts & Tallant theater that the restoration project seeks to correct. Along with the reconstruction of these important elements, the polychrome terracotta and brick façade has been repaired and the stained glass windows refurbished. Now known as the Peter Jay Sharp building, the restoration will be completed with the addition of a 130-foot-long undulating glass canopy along Lafayette Avenue later this year. City-Owned Institution.
